Enable cinema goers to grade movies by using a key pad on the armrest at the end of the screening. Results could be published instantly online, giving a real indication of quality.

One of those oh-so-simple ideas but potentially very effective. I can imagine certain people not approving, i.e. the boring filmakers!!!

cool, I had the same(ish) idea, but simplified a bit by have a big fat 1 to 10 button pusher on the way out so as to attempt to stop people voting on empty seats when the movie really pissed them off I'd always dreamed this might help stop hollywood crap as every knows people only go to them because they 'can't be that bad'.

This already exist in the US. The pad looks like a video game controller. You can rate movie, answer questions on the screen and also order food that is delivered to your seat!!

I think we can even ask the audience to give rating before and after seeing the movie. So that, we can know whether their expectations are met or not.

Ofcourse, I agree that expectations depend upon factors like personal likes & dislikes, marketing efforts for the film, public talk and more. But still, this gives us a parameter for knowng the audience satisfaction levels.

could you ever expect the reported numbers to even be correct?  A production company wouldn't want bad numbers to be advertised, so they aren't going to pay for such a service.  Would the movie house want to advertise that there aren't any good movies playing?   (well, honey, the most liked movie at the theater has a 60% approval rating....lets go to the commedy club instead)
